Day Twelve – 30 Days of Creativity 2015

I didn’t have much time to create something for today’s theme of ‘anchor’ so I played around with some stuff in Inkscape and came up with this:

A quick and dirty #30doc #graphic #illustration of Saturday's theme of #anchor… I'm slowly catching up!

Day Eleven – 30 Days of Creativity 2015

Today’s theme is cherry, and I had the thought of cherry bakewells in my head for the entire day. To make my craving worse, I decided to make another pattern, whipped up in five minutes but still needing some amendments because looking at it makes my eyes go funny. Anyone else getting that?

Day Twenty Eight – 30 Days of Creativity 2012

Last few days of 30DoC! Today’s theme was ‘notebook’, which I have used, but at a slight tangent.

A few years back I was going through a particularly turbulent time and having trouble seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. One day I decided that I needed some things to aim for, so I wrote four words down in a little green notebook, that I still carry with me now. It’s strange but I can remember exactly where I was when I wrote my four life aims. Looking back now, some five years later, I like to think that I have made a lot of progress towards achieving them.

In illustrating the ‘Aims’, I’ve attempted to create logo type graphics with the words. I think my favourite is the Creativity one (I’ve a weakness for CMYK, as previously discussed), though the Confidence logo looks a bit too much like a bank or something for my liking!

Do you have ‘life aims’ to help you through the ups and downs?

Day Twenty Seven – 30 Days of Creativity 2012

A quick one today as I’m running short on time… the theme was ‘aspirin’ which was a bit of a puzzling one. Should I base my creation on the pill, the name, the molecular structure…? Having attempted to make aspirin in one of my Chemistry A-level classes, many years ago, I figured I should pay tribute to those lessons and create something to do with the its structure. I’m afraid it’s not very inventive, perhaps I will revisit it when I have a few spare hours!

Day Twenty Five – 30 Days of Creativity 2012

Today’s theme  is ‘blue’, so as it was a lovely sunny day I headed outside with my camera to capture the gloriousness of the blue sky. After messing around with the photos in my graphics programme, I came up with the background for the picture below, which reminded me so much of an inspirational card that I once had that I added the quote too. Always makes me feel good about myself when I read it!

What are your favourite inspirational quotes?

Day Seventeen – 30 Days of Creativity 2012

Today’s theme was ‘pop’ – anything from music to bubblegum to anything else you care to mention. I’m all about practising my graphics skills at the moment, and I need to learn more about Inkscape (the software I use to make my lasercutting vectors). I’d like to think that this simple little picture tells some kind of story – what do you think?

Balloon and Cactus are best friends

Day Sixteen – 30 Days of Creativity 2012

The theme for day sixteen was ‘sting’, so I decided to use insects that sting (ie. bees and wasps) as my inspiration, though given the amount of weeding I’ve been doing lately, perhaps I should have used nettles as inspiration instead!

When I thought of the colours black and yellow, an idea of targets in those colours formed in my head, and I decided that I wanted them to move. What with the recent animated GIF revival (the O Music Awards have even nominated them in their ‘Best Vintage Revival‘ category), I thought I’d return to my misspent adolescence (I was a geek even then) and make an animated GIF. It’s only a simple and quick one, but I find it very hypnotic to watch:

Cool, huh?
